A new chapter has begun! The Androscoggin Gleaners are now a project of the Good Food Council of Lewiston-Auburn. The Androscoggin Gleaners work with farmers and producers across Androscoggin County to harvest and glean excess crops and bring these to food pantries, shelters, food banks, and other emergency food distribution sites across the county. The work of the Androscoggin Gleaners aligns with our mission to shape a food system where our entire community of Lewiston-Auburn has access to good food.
In 2025, the Andro Gleaners harvested just shy of 19,000 pounds of produce from generous farm partners. The dedicated volunteers delivered to 9 distribution sites in Androscoggin County – libraries, community centers, pantries, meal sites, and directly to homes. In 2026, we hope to grow our network of farmers, volunteers and distribution sites to bring even more nutritious local food to all in need in Androscoggin County.
