We are excited to announce the updated Local Foods Action Plan Lewiston Auburn (LFAP LA) in its new webite platform! Originally known as the Local Foods Local Places Action Plan Lewiston Auburn, LFAP LA was born in 2019 following a months-long planning process and a multi-day community workshop that brought together dozens of citizens along with municipal, agricultural and business leaders to envision a more robust local food system and economy for the region. The original plan crystallized a local food vision into four goals and sixteen action steps and engaged a team of cross sector champions to lead the plan over the coming three to five years. In 2023 we recognized that the plan was due for an update. And then a year-long update process was pursued where we engaged the community in multiple ways to help craft this new plan including surveys, focus groups, and a major event. And ultimately, LFAP leads helped finalize the plan.
Many of our leads and community supporters joined us in the celebration and launch of our new website in November 2024. We really appreciated all of the feedback on the website! We have been working with our gifted website developer Sam from Tide Pool Creative to get the plan to a place of readiness. The plan in its form is living, and we will be ready to update it as progress is made. So, please go check it out and let you know what you think! Visit www.lafoodplan.com
