We are thrilled to welcome Eric Fleischmann (he/they) as the new AssistantCoordinator of GFCLA! Eric joined us part-time in late May of this year, and has been working to support all facets of our work, including administrative, communications, development, outreach and events. One of the big projects Eric has been engaged with is co-designing a community-driven process to update a Local Foods Action Plan for greater Auburn and Lewiston this year!
Eric is a 2023 Bates graduate, and comes to GFCLA with rich experiences and relationships in relation to our local food system. While working with Cooperative Development Institute, Eric was involved in research for the successful feasibility study for the LA Community Market (previously known as the Community Food Center) – an exciting project that now has a multilingual board and has entered into the start-up and development phase. Eric had also previously interned with our partners, Land In Common, in support of their land justice mission. Eric also currently works for the Lewiston Farmers’ Market, and you can find him at the information booth on Sundays this summer. You can read Eric’s full bio on our website.
We are grateful to have Eric on our team helping to build long-term, collaborative, food system solutions for greater Auburn and Lewiston!
