DESCRIPTION:Update: We have seen an INCREDIBLE response in registrations to this event!   We are excited\, and are looking forward to a wonderful event.\n\n\n\nWe have needed to change our registration form into a WAIT LIST\, as we assess our capacity to add more people. If you have not yet registered but still interested to attend\, please register for the WAIT LIST\, and if we have availability for additional attendees\, we will contact you via Email and/or Phone to confirm your registration as soon as possible: http://tinyurl.com/localfoodplanLA\n\n\n\nThank you for understanding!\n\n____ \nWe are excited to have you join the Good Food Council of Lewiston-Auburn\, St. Mary’s Nutrition Center and local food system leaders for this much anticipated event. \nThis will be an opportunity to celebrate the successes of the initial Local Foods Local Places Action Plan developed in 2019\, and continue forward momentum through the creation of an updated action plan and an emerging LOCAL FOOD VISION for our region. \nIn keeping with the spirit of the original plan\, participants will work together to bring forth a series of Goals and Actions with diverse municipal\, organizational\, and business leadership commitments that will support economic opportunities for local food businesses and farms; improve access to good food and land to grow food for all communities and; help catalyze the food system and economy of Greater Lewiston Auburn. \nThe event is FREE to the community and will include dinner highlighting local ingredients and connecting activities.  Stipends for participation\, childcare\, and language interpretation are also available as needed.  \nAttendees to the event will include individuals from the agricultural\, food business\, municipal\, education\, public health\, non-profit\, and philanthropy sectors\, alongside interested Auburn and Lewiston eaters (ie. SUMMARY:Opening of the Winter Farmers' Market
DESCRIPTION:It’s that time of year again! The weather gets chilly\, holidays are upon us\, and it’s the opening of The Lewiston Winter Farmer’s Market\, where you can still get your farm fresh goodies during the wintertime!  Located at the YWCA on 130 East Ave\, in Lewiston Maine. The only changes\, other than our location\, is that our market is now ONLY 10:00 AM TO 12:00 PM. Friendly Reminder: WIC and SNAP/EBT users are accepted! Also for SNAP/EBT we are still offering our dollar-for-dollar match with Maine Harvest Bucks!   Be sure to stop by and grab your weekly groceries\, or maybe start your holiday shopping at the Winter Farmers Market!
